Coolstar recently released the latest update for Cydia installer. Much like previous updates, this update, too, throws an odd “target packages is configured many times Cydia” error.
What’s new in Cydia Installer 1.1.30-coolstar6-2?
The newest Cydia update adds (coolstar6-2) two new repositories as default – Packix and Hashbang (Chariz).
Though both these are decent jailbreak sources, users aren’t too keen on Andrew Wiik and the team. Moreover, users can’t remove these sources after they upgrade, which works against everything a jailbreak is short for.
If you’d like to delete Packix repo, simply open Filza and delete its entry from /etc/apt/sources.list.d.
Users will also be reporting the latest error from the latest update. This error arises due to the inclusion of duplicate sources.
Here’s the best way to fix it in your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Fixing target packages will be configured often times Cydia error
- Open Cydia.
- It will now prompt one to perform upgrading. Upgrade on the latest version.
- You will now have the following error when you try and install any package.
- Go to Sources section.
- Tap Edit and scroll down before you find Packix repo. Tap the red “-” button after which tap Delete to delete both Packix repositories.
- Repeat step three for Hashbang Productions (Chariz) repository.
That’s all there’s with it! This error will not bug you. You will freely install any package you wish.
Here are some more fixes that may prove useful for many Electra jailbreak users.
